Living the high life

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

I’ve mostly lived in some of the most cosmopolitan cities in Asia — Manila, Shanghai, Singapore (incl. KL). All of these cities have a touch of, well, New York. Still nothing compares to the Big Apple when it comes to high living. High class, high touch, high stress!

Recently, a friend an I were exchanging videos over lunch. He lent me his collection of videos and I reviewed them in the evening. A series, Cashemere Mafia, caught my attention since a) I have not stumbled across this series before, and b) the title sounded nice. So, on to the first episode. Man, was I hooked! Allow me to show you a 1.5 minute preview of Episode 2.

Get the Flash Player to see this player.

The elements of living good, the HD-quality vid, the place, the dynamics, the people, the music, etc. were just a great mix. Sad though that ABC has discontinued the series. It would’ve been a great. Had the potential to be something like Sex and the City and Desperate Housewives.

Speaking of music, one loop that kept on playing was Mika’s Love Today. I tell you… That song kept playing at the back of my mind for days. Gee. Talk about having LSS. Generally, I like the 5th avenue, Manhattan-style high-end beat.

Anyway, apart from sharing, this post is to test if I’ll be successful in having HD videos on this blog. I would’ve wanted to use Vimeo but as the vid’s a snip from a TV show, it would be at risk of getting deleted. Oh well.

Ok. It’s successful but there seems to be some wait time. Looks like it downloads the whole vid first before playing. Then again, it’s H.264. Hmm. Perhaps it’ll work better if it’s FLV. We’ll see in the next few blogs.
